Instagram Wednesday #2

Welcome to my second week of 'Instagram Wednesday', this is just where I catch up with all the posts I've made over the past week on Instagram. I feel like it gives a little insight as to what life's like on a more day to day basis.

At the moment, I'm currently off work as I was verbally assaulted and it left me feeling vulnerable. I've been trying to use my time productively to help myself feel less anxious. I think I've done okay, I've been feeling up and down but I'm getting there and pretty much ready to go back to work!

1) I've been waiting for this moment for years! Tonight I finally get to see one of my favourite bands ever - American Nightmare. For the majority of the time I was into them they were broken up, but a few years ago they got back together and have been playing shows mainly state side; now they're over here and I'm so excited!

2) I took a little trip to Superdrug and picked up a few skincare items. My skin has been awful for god knows how long, and with me wearing make-up now more than ever, it's time I got my skin sorted out. It's only after I started following beauty bloggers, that I found out make-up wipes are really bad for your skin; I honestly had no idea, I'm useless with this skincare malarky. So I've ditched the wipes and decided to pick up some micellar cleansing water from Garnier and also a facial scrub by Superdrug, a muslin cloth and some baby shampoo for my brushes.

3) Sunday involved a lovely and relaxing trip down to Brighton with my brother to visit my dad. My Dad lives close to Brighton so we always meet there and wander around the lanes, pick up something to eat and have a coffee. It was a lovely day (there were no arguments!!) and I snapped up some cute homeware items to use as make-up storage in my room.

4) Here is my OOTD which I posted about here

5) I've decided that I'm going to run the Race for Life! I've been thinking about it for ages now but I decided enough is enough and that it was finally time to sign myself up. I'm going to be running the 5K, in hopefully as quick a time as possible! I would be utterly grateful if you could donate, no matter how small.

6) I had the most amazing delivery on saturday - three pairs of B.A.I.T Footwear, to see better pictures and to read all about them, catch up with my post here.

7) Another picture from one of my blog posts - my gorgeous summer outfit from Lindy Bop which includes a dupe of Pinup Girl Clothing's Doris top. Read about it here!

8) A selfie of me and my Boyfriend as he's just gone off on tour with AC/DC until July. He'll be home for a week in June but I miss him so much! boo.

9) So I'm sure you all read about Protein World's AWFUL response to criticism of their ad campaigns. Personally, I find them problematic; the fact that they photoshop these models, put them on a poster for women and girls of all ages to see whilst pretending to "help" them attain that body with their products, is ridiculous and very damaging. As far as I'm concerned, if you've got a body, you're beach body ready! There's a protest happening in London on Sunday and I'm very tempted to attend.

That's it for this week!

Instagram Wednesday

I thought I'd start a new weekly feature on my blog where I post all/a selection of my Instagram photos from the previous week, showing you guys what I've been up to and what life is like on a day to day basis!

This may perhaps be the start of a few different weekly/monthly features on the blog, as I'd like to post a lot more regularly than I do now.

1) Today surely had to be the warmest of the year so far! It was gorgeous. I couldn't help but relax in my garden with an iced coffee, catch up with reading some blogs and generally just feeling pretty in my Pinup Girl Clothing 'Molly' dress. All before I got my hair done!

2) I arrived home today to this new duvet set sold at George at ASDA. Not only is the print - pin up girls and nautical themes - stunning, the set only cost £12. I bought two matching pillows with the set for an additional £5 each. They're even selling pin up girl storage boxes!

3) Thanks to absolute beaut that is Alice over at Alice in Retrospect for posting this on her instagram, I managed to snap up my first Dita Von Teese - Von Follies set from Debenhams for about £12. Incredible bargain, the set is gorgeous and feels amazing.

4) Whilst Jonny was down in London working for WWE, he was put up in a hotel in Canary Wharf, so I went to stay with him for a few days. Although it's not too far from home, it was really lovely to be away for a bit and take in the lovely sights - south east London isn't quite so nice to look at.

5) I've been having good body image recently as I've started eating well and exercising again. I took a picture here to appreciate my curves and it's a reminder that I do like my body and I can appreciate it once in a while.

6) Having a pose in the hotel room wearing my gorgeous Hell Bunny - Larissa dress. Not the greatest of photos but I was feeling pretty as we headed out to have some drinks.

7) You might have seen these photos from my blog post last week on Pinup Girl Clothing's new Birdie dress. I'm in love with this dress, the colours are so gorgeous so I can't help but keep posting these photos almost everywhere.

8) As I mentioned before, I've been eating much healthier recently. I've mostly been eating a lot more veg, quinoa and protein based foods such as chicken and fish. I added some Nando's sauce for a little kick and extra taste, it was yum!

9) Just a selfie born completely out of boredom!

That's this weeks bit of nonsense, come and follow me over at http://www.instagram.com/lipstickanddresses for more!
