Pinup Girl Clothing | Molly dress

The second dress I'm reviewing from Pinup Girl clothing is the 'Molly' dress in the navy blue and white polka dot colour way. I'd just like to point out that I am not wearing a petticoat underneath the dress in any of these photos, which I would normally wear.

Where do I start with this dress though? I've been lusting after this particular style for months on end now and it definitely had to be in the first order I made from the Pinup Girl website. I could gush for hours on how perfect I think it is and the fact that it totally DID live up to all of my expectations.

The 'Molly' dress comes in 4 different colour ways; a white cherry print, a black cherry print, a yellow print and then this navy and polka dot version. I am a big nautical print fan, so obviously the navy blue and white polka dot print was going to be my first choice- I have an anchor tattoo, it only makes sense! The colour is a gorgeous deep blue that is delightfully contrasted by the white straps, polka dots and belt.

There is so much to love about this dress, it's of FANTASTIC quality, there is absolutely nothing cheap about it (my experience of all Pinup Girl clothing so far). The fabric is made of 97% cotton and 3% spandex. I realised upon order, I should have ordered a size down; I made a mistake here as I was ordering my waist size but because of the style of the dress, I could definitely have gotten away with the next size down. Nevertheless, I think it's just a learning curve, especially when ordering from companies for the first time, I think you need to get a feel of how certain sizes fit on you.

One of my favourite features of the dress are the adjustable straps; this means ladies of many different bust sizes and shoulder types can be accommodated. Moreover, the bow that features on the bust is a drawstring so you can pull it in and make it look how you wish. That's the absolute delight of this dress - you can play about with it!

Okay, I've got to admit I slightly overlook this feature sometimes - only because I'm totally not used to it yet; it's the pockets!!! Not only does the Molly have pockets, they are 1) well concealed and 2) so freaking deep! I' tend to forget they are a feature as I am not used to clothing brands putting dresses on pockets and because they are well concealed, it's easy to forget. However, the fact that you can't see them is fantastic because if I'm out and about with just a phone and some money - I can keep it in my dress and everyone is none the wiser.

I love how much of a frizz ball my hair is in these photos; a bad outcome of trying pin-curling for the first time, it's safe to say I am sticking to foam rollers as my hair seems to prefer this and it takes up much less time.

Lastly, the belt is the item that ties this dress in. Another reason, I wish I had bought a smaller size (this belt I'm wearing is a separate patented belt by PUG but in the same size as the one that comes with the dress) is that I could have easily have gone another couple of notches in and so my waist would have looked much better, but I don't think it's too bad as is and again, it is only a learning curve for my next order ;)

Overall, this dress is just amazing. It's most definitely worth an investment, and it's going to be a key staple in my wardrobe. Bless the Pinup Girl clothing Gods for making the dreamiest of dresses!
