Dolly and Dotty

Hey guys! I'm finally back with an outfit post which has been a long time coming! I wrote on my Facebook page the other day apologising for my absence and that I've been taking a break due to not being very well and taking some time out to recover! Well now, I'm back feeling tip top and I'm feeling ridiculously excited to share this dress with you!

I was so excited when Dolly and Dotty contacted me to see if I would interested in reviewing one of their dresses; I've been eyeing up some of their pieces for a while so of course I jumped at the chance. After a whiling of 'umming' and 'aaahing' I decided on this Tiffany dress in red with white polka dots.

I love this dress for a number of reasons; for a start, it's a real 'classic' 50s style dress that would go down so well in a diner setting. I saw this because in fact, I did wear this out to a diner and I got some lovely compliments. The fit and flare style with the wrap over bust detail is everything I love about this dress and it also reminds me of Pin Up Girl clothing's 'Birdie' dress which is a very popular style. However, this Dolly and Dotty dress fits perfectly, with a hidden side zip. I've had some troubles with the zip but I find this is a common occurrence with side zips across the board. I also believe this dress would benefit from a more 'stiff' belt; this belt feels slightly flimsy, crumples up and falls out of the belt loops, so for a more 'authentic' and elegant look, a stronger belt would be ideal.
Despite the belt, I am so in love with this dress! I really feel like Minnie Mouse and paired with my heart shaped clutch and red mary jane shoes both from Primark, I really feel like some sort of disney princess. This dress is currently on sale down from £37.99 to £27.99 and I couldn't recommending it more. I feel as if Dolly and Dotty are on par with the likes of Lindy Bop in terms or pricing, clothing quality and the range of different styles of dresses. I'll definitely be looking to buy more dresses from Dolly and Dotty in the future...just what to pick? There's so much choice!
